Month In Review

Holy Cow! I got on to write today and just saw that it has been a month since I last wrote.... maybe a bit less seeing how February was a short month. Its crazy how time flies. Currently I am in my office writing and my husband is in the other room, with the sliding door open. Mmmmm I am loving the spring like weather that we have had. Seriously I am getting an itch to plant my flowers in my planter boxes and ripping my house apart for spring cleaning. I love getting rid of things! I am crossing my fingers that this will stay, but knowing how the weather goes here in Utah, it could be gone in an hour.

This past little while has been so busy. Maybe that will be my excuse for not writing on my blog for so long:). First off, I had a very successful First Valentines day with Petal Perfect Floral Design. On my facebook page I expressed how blessed and grateful I am to all that ordered through me. To this day, I am still grateful! It was kind of a crazy week. I had a few orders here and there. Thinking that I would not be working a whole lot, and I could enjoy my holiday. Then.... the phone was off the hook! Men really are procrastinators haha. So many orders came in the day before. And just as I thought I was done taking orders...More calls came in the day of. The best part was delivering flowers. I loved watching faces light up and co workers "ooh's" and "ahh's". It was good to meet some of you for the first time or seeing old friends. I am so happy that week is over though... Till next year!

A few Valentines dance corsages and Bouts

I just finished a wedding a few days ago. It was a fun and fast couple of days. The colors were so beautiful together. Teal, light pink and white. This was a very elegant wedding with very elegant flowers. My heart almost melted, they were so pretty. Congrats to Aubree and Jed! They were such a cute easy go couple. I love working with people like that! I have to confess one mistake... I only got some shots with my phone. I forgot my camera!!! I am planning on asking for some professional photos...so watch out for those. 

As of a few months ago, I have one a lot of funerals or gifts for funerals. This is probably the saddest part of my job. As I meet with family members or talk to the friend that are sending gifts, I get a small idea of what that person was like. This is what helps me with my design. I try to bring a little bit of that person out in the arrangements.

For example: This Gentleman loved trees and nature. He loved birds. In the red arrangement it had a little red bird and Red dogwood branches on it. I am guessing the red roses are a family thing because they were so set on red roses. The other arrangement was a wild flower one. It had willow twigs and bird feathers. 

This little arrangement was a gift. A small baby girl had passed away. Friends of the parents wanted this arrangement to represent joy and the tenderness of a little girl.  

Flowers are so beautiful and can light up a room, just like any person. I think this is why I love my job. I can take a flower, see its potential and make it into something that is (hopefully) beautiful. We are all human beings just trying to find our place in life. Trying to see our potential and when we do, We all can become something great and wonderful... something beautiful.
