At the beginning of the month I had 4 weddings in 2 weeks. Kinda crazy, but super fun. I am currently waiting to receive photos from photographers so I can blog about them. I have lots of fun ideas and awesome photos! Please stay tuned for that.
I just noticed this morning that I have not blogged for the month of May. I wanted to get something in... So .... you get my thoughts. As I woke early this morning, and my husband left off to work at the break of dawn, I could not fall back asleep. So of course I grabbed my computer and headed to Facebook (isn't this what we all do?). While scrolling down my feed, I noticed someone had shared a blog. This blog post was titled "Those Mormons". Some would think that this is a blog post about bashing us Mormons, but it was not. I actually loved reading every single word. Most of the time I don't tend to write about religion. I talk about work. After reading this blog post, I thought to myself "why don't I?"
What was written in this blog made my mind wander to all those conference talks, to use our technology in a positive way. To share the gospel using the tools that are given to us. This is shared by our prophets and the apostles in almost every General Conference. So why don't we share more often?
During our last conference in April, Richard G. Scott stated,
"You live in a world where technological advances occur at an astounding pace. It is difficult for many of my generation to keep up with the possibilities. Depending on how technology is used, these advances can be a blessing or a deterrent. Technology, when understood and used for righteous purposes, need not be a threat but rather an enhancement to spiritual communication."
I just want to thank all of you awesome members who take the time to make technology a "blessing". Who share about your families and how we have the knowledge of being together for eternity. Who share their testimonies on your Facebook status. Who post conference talks so we all can enjoy the messages of our Prophets. Thank you! Thank you for being a great example to me! This is something I would like to be better at. I am not the best writer, nor do I have the cutest blog, but I do know how to type. I do need to share my testimony more often, because I do know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church, I have lived it and felt of the joy that it brings. I am blessed to know my Heavenly Father. I am also very blessed to know that He KNOWS me and LOVES me! I have a testimony of our temples. Great work is happening on this earth today because of them. I will be able to live with my family and the ones I love for not just time, but for eternity as well. I am grateful for a living Prophet who teaches and guides us in the right direction. I invite all to read the Book of Mormon. There are so many uplifting and great lessons to be learned. I am proud to be a Mormon. Please feel free to comment, or ask any questions here on my blog.
You can also visit lds.org for more information concerning our beliefs. Thanks for reading and letting me get my thoughts out :) Here is the link to the blog I am referring to:

ReplyDeleteHi Heidi! I actually got a few comments on my post about this recently and I was confused how people were finding it since it was posted a few months ago. I'm glad that you liked it and that I didn't offend anyone. LDS ladies contribute so much to the blog world and I'm grateful to have such wonderful company.
ReplyDeleteThanks cort! Sure love ya!
ReplyDeleteNadine, I found it on facebook and thought I would share with friends. It has already been spread quite a bit. That's what happens when something about mormons hits Utah :)
